What is Personal Branding?
We all know what brands are right? You would recognize a McDonald’s logo from a mile away or here in New England we run on Dunkin’s (sorry Starbucks people!) Your personal brand is how you promote yourself. It is the story you tell of yourself, of your business, and the way you want people to imagine your personality when they see your portraits or logo. In todays world with social media, we are no longer just relying on a business card. We are looking at peoples profiles, their videos, and anything else they put out there that gives us a glimpse into who they might be.
Your personal brand can be vital to you professionally. It gives you the opportunity to highlight who you are, as well as what your strengths and passions are. When people feel like they know you, like you, and trust you, then they are more likely to reach out to you. You want to stand out from the crowd because all of us are different and we all have something different to offer.
Above anything, you do want your personal brand to be relatively authentic, be you, and be genuine.
This leads me into your portraits:
Your headshot may be a small glimpse of you, but if you want to create more on your business website and social media pages, we recommend having a full branding session that showcases what you do and who you are. What are you looking to achieve in your business and who is your client? These are things to consider when discussing options with your photographer and don’t worry your photographer should always help you turn your vision into reality. So there it is, Happy Branding!
